My Favorite Outfit

Nasty Gal, although I don’t love the name I absolutely LOVE their clothes! Their photography is so exciting and innovative, along with their amazing ensembles you just have to do a double take! Here is my favorite outfit of the week! It is a classy look for going out with the girls, on a date with your man (or soon to be man), or throw on a blazer and it’s a perfect work outfit! My Favorite App

I was going through my app store on my IPhone and came across this really fun app called Netpage. I have hundreds of magazines that I keep for inspiration but so many times I want to just take a picture and pin it on Pinterest or have a place to organize and save my clippings electronically. Ya I know we have scanners and such but this app just makes it so much fun to “clip it.” The only down side of this app (at the moment) is that it only works with Marie Claire and Esquire Magazine which as we all know is nothing compared to how many amazing magazines are out there. BUT I have faith in them that they will get more exciting, fun Magazines that we all love very soon. So for now go explore your Marie Claire and start clipping!

2013 Grammys My Favz

Ok so I didn’t watch the whole three hour Grammy’s last night but I did watch enough to see some amazing dresses and performances! I have to say my favorite dress had to be Kelly Rowland’s! I immediately thought “ohh emm ggskizz I have to have that dress,” so she is the winner in my world. Also Adam Levine why, why do you have to be so darn good looking and all around amazing!? I am pretty sure you might not know it yet but you’re my soul mate… hehe #justsayin. One last thing, I was lucky enough to see Frank Ocean live in the front row a few months ago in New York City, and I have to say his music moves me, literally. All I want to do is sway back and forth signing quietly along with him. I loved his performance last night to his song “Forest Gump” and the special effects I mean really that was just freaggin awesome! Alright just in case you missed it here are a few of my favorites, what do you think?

Throwback Thursday My First Crafting Video!

How in the heck is your Throwback Thursday going so far? I hope you are reminiscing about some old memories while listening to some of your favorite old songs! I am listening to Avril Lavigne right now rocking out while writing this post.. “hey, hey, you, you!” I can remember dancing to this in my pj’s with my best girlfriends when we were in middle school, oh boy! #danceparty

I want to share with you the very FIRST crafting video I made when I first joined Cool2Craft over a year ago. It is so great to look back at old projects, pictures, videos etc. and see how far you have come and how much you have changed, I just love it! Red Felt Lips Earrings – DIY

Aren’t these the coolest earrings!! I was inspired by a fashion ad, so I headed into my creative studio, grabbed a SmartWater bottle and some red felt and designed these fashionable trendy earrings!

Materials

Water bottle – smooth sided (I like SmartWater bottles for this)
Masking tape (1/2″ wide)
Craft knife
Scissors
Aleene’s Fabric Fusion Peel & Stick Tape
Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Bandana – black and white print (or cotton print fabric)
Organdy fabric – black
Felt – red
Hole punch (small – for jump rings)
Jump rings
Fishhook earring findings
Wax Paper

1. Tape a straight line around bottle with masking tape. Use craft knife to poke through side of water bottle. Insert scissors and cut along masking tape. You should now have a water bottle circle. Repeat to create second earring hoop.

2. Cut each hoop to approximately 3/8″ width.

3. Remove masking tape and bottle label.

4. Apply Fabric Fusion tape to back of fabric strip. Cut away excess fabric from sides of Fabric Fusion tape. Begin to peel back paper backing about 2″ (but do not remove all the paper backing at this point.) Lay fabric on table, sticky side up.

5. Align earring hoop down center of strip of sticky fabric. Continue to peel back paper backing and applying sticky fabric until entire outside of earring hoop is covered with fabric. Wrap and press excess fabric around to inside of earring and press to glue in place.

6. Apply Fabric Fusion tape to the back of another fabric strip. Cut strip to approximately 1/4″ wide. Apply this fabric to the inside of earring hoop. You should now have an earring hoop with fabric on both the outside and inside.

7. Apply a thin line of Aleene’s Tacky Glue along edge of hoop. Be sure to apply just a narrow line. If any glue starts to drip into inside of earring, use finger to gently wipe away extra glue.

8. Place glued side down onto organdy fabric. Repeat for second earring. Set aside to dry. When dry, cut away excess organdy fabric.

9. Punch hole in top edge of earring hook.

10. Cut two lips from felt for each earring. Apply Tacky Glue to back of lips and glue to center of organdy fabric. Repeat to glue second lips onto other side of fabric. This will create a two sided earring. Hint: be sure the punched hole is at the top so that your lips will be glued on in the proper position.

11. Add a fish hook earring with a jump ring to the earring hoop.
